Texas Senate Candidate’s Controversial Connections

James Talarico, a candidate for the Texas Senate, has gained attention not just for his unusual remarks regarding transgender issues and spiritual perspectives, but also for his association with musician Bobby Pulido. Sarah Gonzalez, a host on Blaze TV, noted this partnership, drawing attention to Pulido’s close ties with the Texas Democratic Party. She mentioned that Pulido recently opened the Texas Democratic Party convention, as indicated by his own social media posts.

Gonzalez expanded on Pulido’s musical collaborations, highlighting his band’s involvement with an accordion player named Frankie Caballero. Unfortunately, Caballero has a criminal past, specifically a conviction for sexually assaulting an eight-year-old in 2014, a fact that Gonzalez refers to as particularly troubling.

“It’s noteworthy that despite his background, Pulido continued touring for four years with Caballero as part of the band, even after Caballero served time for his crime,” she explained.

During their tours, the band participated in a charity event for a local school at Flores Stadium, raising eyebrows with Pulido’s decision to invite Caballero to a related middle school event.

“To even think about bringing someone like that into a school setting, it raises serious questions about judgment,” she said.

After 2021, Pulido ceased working with Caballero. Pulido has denied any awareness of Caballero’s criminal record, though South Texas bassist Ramon Rodriguez indicated that Caballero’s conviction was common knowledge within their music circle.

Gonzalez expressed concern about Talarico and other Democrats associating with someone linked to a convicted sex offender. “It’s just odd, isn’t it?” she remarked, reflecting a level of discomfort with the situation.
