A prominent Democratic candidate for the Texas Senate, who identifies as a “devout Christian,” has been revealed to be following several individuals involved in adult entertainment on Instagram. Notably, one of these individuals describes herself as a “bisexual Latina cyber slut.”
James Talarico, a 36-year-old state representative and seminary student, was highlighted last week for his connections with various escorts, adult film stars, and OnlyFans creators, even engaging in conversations with at least one of them.
Known for intertwining his religious beliefs with progressive political views, Talarico has made a splash in the race. He has raised $6.2 million in just the first three weeks of campaigning, putting him ahead of Republican incumbent John Cornyn, according to recent polls that show him leading former Texas Rep. Colin Allred by six points.
The coverage also unearthed more surprising follows by other so-called “faithful” Democrats.
One of the figures he follows, Alina Lopez, advertises her “girlfriend experience” service, priced at $2,000 per hour.
Additionally, Talarico follows Zoe Pugh, who links to her OnlyFans account on her profile, and former Love Island participant Valerie Bragg, who similarly makes connections to her OnlyFans in her posts.
Bragg has remarked that her content is “dangerously addictive” on her profile.
When questioned, Talarico’s campaign representative, JT Ennis, stated that Talarico had no direct interaction with these women.
“James and his social media team engage with a variety of supporters, often without delving into their backgrounds. He is unaware of how these women earn a living but chooses not to pass judgment, aligning with his Christian values,” Ennis explained.
