James Taylor, Luke Combs, Eric Church to take part in Helene relief concert in NC

Charlotte (WJZY) — Some of the biggest music stars with ties to North Carolina will gather for a show later this month to raise money for Hurricane Helen relief efforts, organizers announced Monday.

Marty Smith and Caleb Presley will be emcees for the event, and the show will be sponsored by Explore Asheville and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. Billy Strings, a Michigan native who has performed numerous times throughout the Carolinas, will also perform.

Church is from Granite Falls, Combs is from Asheville, North Carolina, and Taylor is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Tickets will go on sale at Ticketmaster starting this Thursday at 10am.

Helen was the deadliest hurricane to hit the continental United States since Katrina in 2005. The death toll rose to 227 over the weekend, about half of them in North Carolina, with dozens more in Georgia and South Carolina.
