Jamie Kennedy has expressed his thoughts on Mark Hamill’s recent comments regarding President Donald Trump.
During an episode of his podcast, “Hate to Break It to Ya,” Kennedy critiqued Hamill for a social media misstep where he shared an image of Trump that made him appear lifeless, accompanied by the caption “If only,” shortly after a concerning incident at the White House Correspondents Association dinner.
“It’s insane. It’s beyond brain rot,” Kennedy remarked, adding that Hamill is a significant figure in the public eye and should be more responsible. “You’re like the loud voice of the world and you’re promoting that. What’s wrong with you?”
He went on to say that whether one likes Trump or not, he is an elected official, pointing out the irresponsibility of such comments. “You can express discontent in a classy way, but this? It’s just evil.”
Earlier this month, Hamill commented on BlueSky, saying Trump should witness his own defeat in the midterms and face consequences for his actions, stating he would be forever marked in history.
However, Hamill later removed the post and apologized for the “inappropriate” image, clarifying, “I was hoping he would die, and I apologize if this image seemed inappropriate.”
The White House responded through social media, calling Hamill “sick” and attributing this kind of rhetoric to a troubling history of threats against the president.
Hamill has a pattern of voicing his concerns about Trump. In a past interview, he admitted feeling “truly ashamed” of Trump’s election wins, stating that he believed America, at its core, was more decent than it appeared.
After Trump’s re-election, Hamill felt disheartened, feeling as though decent Americans were a minority in the country now.
