Jason Kelsey is proving once again that he is the king of all media.
The former NFL lineman turned podcaster and TV analyst is now the frontman of a band…sort of.
Kelce joined Mount Joy, an indie rock band outside of Lincoln Financial Field, on Thursday to debut their new Christmas song, “Santa Drives an Astroban,” with the band.
The song is part of Kelce's annual Christmas album, which he releases to raise money for charities in the Philadelphia area.
Philadelphia bands Kelce and Mount Joy performed prior to the Eagles' Thursday Night Football game against the Commanders.
“What's wrong everyone? Thank you everyone for coming out.” Kelce said to the raucous crowd. “This will help us a lot in promoting this album. This album will help many families in this area during the holidays.” So thank you so much for your support. ”
Another video posted on social media Kelce indicated he was encouraging the crowd to give a shout-out to Mount Joy, “a real musician on stage.”
Kelce talked about the performance earlier this week on the latest episode of the podcast “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Travis.
“At first we were like, 'Hey, let's do something in the parking lot,' which would be fun, so we could film it to promote it,” he said during the show. “And somehow we ended up having a stage entirely at the rink…and we ended up playing this song right before the most important game of the Eagles' season so far.”
The upcoming Christmas album, titled 'A Philly Special Christmas Party', has already made headlines with the release of the first single 'Maybe This Christmas', a duet with Stevie Nicks.
Thursday night's concert is sure to add even more buzz to the highly anticipated project.
