Jaylen Brown's father taken into custody for attempted murder

Reports indicate that Quenton M. Brown, father of Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown, was arrested for attempted murder on Thursday.

Quenton, who also goes by his middle name, Marcels, is a former boxer. He was taken into custody in the morning on suspicion of involvement in a stabbing incident in Las Vegas, as detailed by various sources.

The altercation reportedly stemmed from a dispute over a parking space at All American Park. Initial accounts suggest that during the confrontation, the suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach.

After the incident, the suspect fled but was later apprehended by authorities.

The victim, identified as a youth soccer coach, required surgery following the attack. As of Thursday afternoon, his condition was not publicly known.

Marcel is expected to appear in court later on Thursday.

He has a boxing record of 33 wins, 18 losses, and 1 draw, having begun his career in the sport in 1989.

It’s noted that Jaylen Brown, a four-time NBA All-Star, reportedly had little to no relationship with his father and was not aware of the recent arrests or incidents involving him.

Brown, drafted as the first overall pick from California in 2016, has spent his entire NBA career with the Celtics.

Last year, he celebrated his first NBA title when the Celtics defeated the Mavericks. However, the team faced a setback this year, being eliminated in the Eastern Conference semi-finals by the Knicks.

During the regular season, he averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, maintaining similar stats in the postseason with averages of 22.1 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
