Vance Criticizes Political Violence Following FBI Disruption of Drone Plot
Vice President J.D. Vance spoke out against left-wing violence during a recent appearance on “Fox & Friends.” His comments came after the FBI disrupted an alleged drone attack aimed at a UFC event at the White House over the weekend.
“This is a very dark story,” he remarked. He noted the troubling trend of rhetoric suggesting that political disagreement leads to violence, arguing that excessive political discourse has contributed to this escalating issue.
Vance pointed out that political violence is disproportionately tied to the left, urging, “We have to tell everyone to tone it down.” He expressed concern that many Democratic colleagues in Washington need to reflect on why more violent incidents seem to come from their side.
Federal officials disclosed to FOX News that plans for explosive drones to target buildings near the event had been foiled, leading to mass evacuations. There were also indications of a follow-up plan to storm the White House gates.
Grateful for the preventative measures taken, Vance commented on the critical role of federal law enforcement in keeping citizens safe. He emphasized that such agencies thwart these potential threats daily, which, he noted, could have led to a “terrible tragedy.”
On a related note, Vance also addressed speculation around the 2028 election, including discussions of himself potentially running with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Laughing, he said, “We’re all focused on the job at hand,” acknowledging President Trump’s remarks about a potential Vance-Rubio ticket.
He added, “I think the president likes to stir the pot a little bit…but fundamentally, I think Marco, myself, and all of the Cabinet members are just focused on doing a good job. Then politics will take care of itself.”
