Jenna Bush Hager suffered from Monday blues during this morning’s broadcast. Today with Hoda and Jenna.
The daytime host appeared to reach a breaking point while answering viewer questions on her regular segment, “Girl Code,” with co-host Hoda Kotb.
One viewer said: “My friend Phoebe broke up with her long-term boyfriend Jack because he wouldn’t put a ring on her. Jack said he was lost without Phoebe and she offered to take him back. I can’t support her when I know she’s making a mistake. What do I do?
Bush Hager tried to offer advice to viewers, but instead decided to cut the entire segment short.
“You guys might be like that someday, Jack might be – I don’t know,” she said, pausing. “I’m too tired. It’s Monday and I think it’s best not to get involved in Jack and Phoebe’s relationship. It’s not you! It’s not you!
Kotb laughed and replied: “I think so too, I think so too, because if you step into the middle of their relationship and then they end up getting married, you’re out.”
But Bush Hager had other things in mind. “We’re too tired. I don’t know, I really don’t know. I can’t answer anyone’s girl code, I’m at my limit,” she exclaimed.
Her reaction seemed to shock Kotub, who laughed when her co-host declared, “I’m at my limit.”
“Just leave me alone — anything! Anything!” Bush Hager yelled, trying again to offer advice. She later ominously warned: “I think Girl Code is kind of over.”
This seemed to shock Kotb, who replied, “No, we love Girl Code!”
“I love it, but I just can’t do it. It’s just for today,” Bush Hager replied with a laugh.
of today The co-host couldn’t help but burst into commercials with laughter. Kotb implored viewers to write in to appear on the next Girl Code segment, and she promised to “do it on a Tuesday” next time so as not to embarrass Bush Hager.
The segment got off to an interesting start, with Bush Hager taking the time to point out that Kotb’s pants still had security tags on them. “Hoda, either you stole those pants or they forgot to remove the security.” [tag]” she told Kotb, making him laugh.
Kotb admitted that he had been wearing pants all morning without anyone noticing. “Well, they might not be paying attention to you like I’m paying attention to you,” Bush Hager responded.
