Appearing on David Remnick’s “The New Yorker Radio Hour,” Seinfeld said that nothing had ever had a major impact on comedy because of left-wing entertainers.
“They need it so much and they don’t understand it,” he says. “It used to be that when you got home at the end of the day, most people would say, ‘Oh, ‘Cheers’ has started. Oh, ‘M*A*S*H’ is playing.” Oh, “Mary Tyler Moore” is playing. “All in the Family” is currently on the air. “I think you’ll see something interesting on TV tonight.” ”
“Well, guess what? Where is it? This is the result of the far left and PC shitty people and people being so worried about hurting others,” he continued. “Now they’re going to watch stand-up comics because we’re not being policed by anyone. The audience watches us. We know when we’re going off track. . We know it quickly and adapt to it quickly.”
“But when you write a script and it’s given to four or five different people, committees, groups, this is what we think of this joke,” he added. “Okay, now your comedy is over.”
Furthermore, in the interview, GQhe also said that the movie business is “over” and that movies are no longer “the pinnacle of the social and cultural hierarchy.”
The topic came up after he discussed his feature film, Unfrosted, and said that while he is amazed at the dedication of people involved in film, the industry is still in decline.
“We thought we’d done something great, but it’s just not the way they work. They’re so serious! They have no idea that the movie business is over. “I don’t know anything,” he said.
“Movies don’t occupy the top of the social and cultural hierarchy as they have for most of our lives. When a movie was released, if it was good, we all went to see it. We all talked about it. We quoted some of our favorite lines and scenes. We’re walking through a fire hose of water and we’re just trying to see what’s going on.” continued.
The legendary comedian also said that “confusion” and “disorientation” had replaced movies in the film industry.
“Everyone I know in show business is asking themselves every day, ‘What’s going on? How do we do this? What should we do now?’
