Jesse Watters Discusses How Democrats Provoked a Strong Reaction from the Public

Political Dynamics Ahead of 2028

On Monday, during “Five,” Jesse Watters from Fox News discussed how Democratic policies have inadvertently set the stage for President Donald Trump’s potential re-election, leading to what he described as a “violent backlash.”

As the 2028 midterms approach and speculation ramps up, it appears that Democrats are having difficulty uniting behind a clear leader. Watters pointed to data from CNN that indicates Trump’s early successes regarding immigration and tariffs, suggesting that he is, in many ways, a reaction to Democratic leadership.

“This isn’t a quiz, Joey, but think about Newton’s Third Law of Physics. Every action gets a response, and this applies to politics too,” Watters remarked. “FDR was essentially an unchecked response to what he viewed as ruthless industrialists and their effects on the working class.”

CNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, mentioned on Saturday that the U.S. is on course for a net negative migration rate, something that hasn’t been seen in half a century. He also emphasized Trump’s trade policies, stating, “When we discuss tariff policies, we can’t name a more influential president in the last century.”

Trump’s agenda fulfills itself in the context of rising inflation and ongoing debates about diversity, equity, and policies shaping borders during the Biden-Harris administration. While voters are engaged with cultural and social issues being pushed by Democrats, their primary concerns through 2024 align closely with Trump’s promises.

“Democratic policies have led to conditions allowing Donald Trump to thrive—issues surrounding migration, globalism, and perceived discrimination,” Watters explained. “Instead of resisting what seems to be a steep decline, Democrats ought to reflect on why their agenda is so unpopular.”

Recent polling from various sources, including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and Gallup, indicates a notable decline in Democratic support. A WSJ poll from July 25 revealed that 63% of voters hold an unfavorable view of the party.

The dropping approval ratings have led to discussions about the potential candidates for the 2028 Democratic nomination, particularly after Vice President Kamala Harris announced her decision not to run for governor in her home state. Harris stated she plans to focus on promoting a memoir reflecting on her brief presidential campaign. Reports suggest she has already dismissed future candidacy talks.
