Jets have golden opportunity to put up best start since 2015

The Jets won two in a row and suddenly everyone was talking about how good this team could be.

It's been a while since something like that happened around here, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers said this week that the Jets will be tested on how they handle a little flourish.

“Let's all start too. [praising] It’s us,” Rogers said. “I often think of this quote that Mike McCarthy said in Green Bay in 2006: “Our greatest struggle is dealing with success,'' and it makes sense. .”

The 2-1 Jets will see how they fare Sunday afternoon when they take on the 1-2 Broncos at MetLife Stadium.

Denver pulled off a shocking win against the Buccaneers last week, and now Sean Payton and company will look to pull off a second consecutive upset.

For years, the Jets have tried to unite against their critics.

But now, Rodgers said they have to find a way to come together despite hearing how good they are.

“I think when you're feeling a little frustrated, it's easier to come together and say, 'We're going to take on the world.'” Against the big bad media that tells us how bad we are. is who we are,” Rogers said. “We can come together, but can we still come together and take the same approach when everyone is starting to praise a little bit? I think that’s the mark of a great team. It's whether you can handle the success part with the same focus, same mentality, same mindset, same energy when you start riding.”

The Jets could start the season 3-1 for the first time since 2015.

This is the first time the team has gone at least two games over. He recorded a batting average of .500 from the end of the 2022 season, but ended the season with six consecutive losses.

Coach Robert Saleh said his team won't be overconfident given their struggles in recent years.

“If you think about the last few years, like I said, it's owning our moment,” Saleh said. “Euphory and disaster, that’s Bill’s [Parcells] Quote? Here, since it's play-to-play, the noise will always be extreme, so try to ignore the noise, focus on the moment and do the best you can. Never overreact.

“Whether we win or lose, we want to respond appropriately.”
