Jets make decision on Aaron Rodgers’ future ahead of free agency

The New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers appear to be on the split course.

Fox Sports reported that the Jets told the four-in-time MVP they wanted to move ahead from star quarterback hours before Sunday's Super Bowl LIX. It is unclear how that will happen – whether it is a complete cut or whether they will trade him.

Rodgers spent two seasons in New York. The first season ended as soon as it began when he tore Achilles in the first week of 2023. He played the 2024 season and bounced back from a devastating injury. However, the team missed the playoffs.

He spoke about his future after his 18th week victory with the Miami Dolphins.

“We'll have a conversation in the next few days,” he said. Via Sny. “No matter what happens from there, I don't know if anything will be decisive from them. But it takes a little time to think about my future in the game. In the next stage, Or if you're ready to go either way, I'm grateful for this for two years here.”

New Jets head coach Aaron Glenn didn't give any exact ideas about Rodgers in any way when he was introduced last month.

“If you keep asking me the same questions, I'll give you the same answer,” Glenn said. “We're still in rating mode. So if someone else asks it, I'm going to give you the same answer. So don't waste your time. We'll reveal ?”

He was then asked what he was looking for at quarterback and replied, “Winner.”
