Jimmy Kimmel ridicules homeless Spencer Pratt with a U-Haul joke

Is cruelty the point?

We’ve grown used to a rather serious version of Jimmy Kimmel, the former “Man Show” host. He often portrays himself as a champion of free speech on his ABC late-night show, yet rarely advocates for others’ free speech rights.

“When they go low, we go high,” Michelle Obama once stated, a sentiment many found appealing, albeit unconvincing.

Remember when he defended Kid Cudi after MIA was dismissed from Kid Cudi’s tour for expressing right-leaning views? Yeah, probably not.

This week, however, Kimmel reached a new low, mocking Spencer Pratt, who recently came in third in LA’s preliminary vote. Forget the dubious vote-counting process in LA.

Pratt lost his home and belongings in the Palisades fire, which motivated him to enter public service. He wasn’t about MAGA or any cruelty; he was just a father and husband aiming to protect his family and contribute positively to his community.

That’s just how it is.

In this vein, Kimmel joked that his fans arranged for Pratt to rent a U-Haul so he could fulfill his promise to leave Los Angeles if he lost.

“Mazel, goodbye, Spencer Pratt!”

When ABC finally recognizes Kimmel’s poor treatment of the nation, we might echo that sentiment.

‘Fascist’ fan Platner remains a Democratic favorite

“When they go low, we go high,” Michelle Obama famously remarked. Most didn’t buy it, but it had a nice ring to it.

The co-hosts of “The View” can’t even pretend anymore about Graham “Mein Kampf” Platner, with Sunny Hostin acknowledging all the horrible stories, including his Nazi tattoos. He still needs our votes, though.

Reason or something.

“Look, I don’t think Republicans can claim the moral high ground right now. It’s just over… Democrats, let’s stop the nonsense, put emotions on hold, and act strategically. Let’s seize power in the Senate and House and steer things in the right direction!”

At this point, maybe Hostin and others should reconsider calling President Donald Trump “Hitler.” That might be a bit generous for their new favorite candidate.

I don’t have time to fry

In a classic “Gilligan’s Island” episode, the castaways encounter Japanese soldiers from World War II, who mistakenly believe the war is still ongoing.

Pierce Brosnan resembles that mindset, promoting alarmist views on climate change. The narrative has been weakened by rebuttals from figures like Greta Thunberg, evident in how major outlets like Politico and NPR have reduced their climate coverage. Even Bill Gates, once a prominent scaremonger, has downplayed the crisis.

If only Brosnan would take that to heart.

He launched his Instagram from his home in Hawaii, where he seems to carry on a new narrative of climate dread.

“Climate change is framed as a scientific, environmental, and economic crisis, but above all, it’s a moral issue. Human actions like fossil fuel combustion, forest destruction, and unchecked resource exploitation have disrupted Earth’s climate balance.”

The spirit of Alan Hale Jr., aka the Skipper, might just want to knock some sense into Brosnan.

Broken clock award

Every so often, left-leaning celebrities surprise us. This week, two did just that, taking a knee like a vintage Clayton Kershaw. First up, Whoopi Goldberg defended President Donald Trump.

And no, it wasn’t about policy. President Goldberg, a devoted Knicks fan, believes she should be able to attend:

“I should be able to be there,” she stated, regarding an NBA Finals game against the San Antonio Spurs.

“Every Knicks fan deserves to be there,” Goldberg expressed. “I don’t have to like you, but that’s the way it is.”

That’s pretty significant, if true! And, surprisingly, it is!

Even more astonishing? Stephen King, who usually criticizes Trump, unexpectedly praised him this week—sort of. Given his historical disdain, this was quite the twist.

The horror maestro shared a photo of the renovated reflecting pool in Washington, D.C., a presidential project, calling it “very beautiful.” No notes needed.

Who would have thought that “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” might ring true?
