Left-wing late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel criticized Democrats for continuing to send fundraising emails to Kamala Harris weeks after her disastrous 2024 election loss.
Kimmel has been paying big bucks for Democrats since taking on his role as ABC host. jimmy kimmel liveEven after Kimmel lost in a landslide to Donald Trump, one of the candidates he dislikes most, he was outraged that Democrats continued to send fundraising emails and letters to supporters.
“The election is over,” Kimmel told a studio audience in a Nov. 18 monologue. “This is the depressing part of the afterword when you realize that once a candidate has your email address, they'll never stop contacting you.”
“Over the weekend, I received not one but six fundraising emails from the Harris campaign, including one that said, 'Donating to the Harris Fight Fund program has never been more important.' ” he continued.
“I'm no expert when it comes to campaigns, but I'm sure there have been better times,” he quipped.
“I feel like these people are turning me into a baby reindeer, even though I've been given so much,” he added.
Then he read the text of another email. “James, please make an immediate donation of $100 to the Harris Victory Fund program.”
“Harris Victory Fund Program?!” Kimmel scoffed.
“Maybe we should start by giving it a new name and go from there,” he exclaimed. “This is like Blockbuster still trying to collect late fees on VHS tapes!”
“Harris campaign officials say these financial demands were intended to be sent to the Democratic National Committee, and that they were being asked to give money to a candidate who lost an election.'' It's not like I'm there,” he continued. Please donate funds to the entire committee that has lost so many races across the country. ”
“Why aren't they releasing limited edition Kamala Harris watches or Bibles or gold high-tops? Have they learned nothing from this loss?” He concluded by mentioning collectibles and election equipment.
From there, Kimmel got a very unusual shot at President Joe Biden, showing a video of Biden's very strange behavior in the Amazon rainforest. Biden finished his speech there and then simply wandered into the woods behind the podium. “And he was never seen again,” Kimmel joked.
Mr. Kimmel, of course, was widely derided for actually crying during his first monologue after Election Day, when voters so thoroughly rejected Mr. Kimmel's candidacy and Ms. Harris lost in a landslide to Mr. Trump.
“Let's be honest, last night was a terrible night,” he said, his voice shaking. “It was a terrible night for women, for children, and for the hundreds of thousands of hardworking immigrants who keep this country running for health care, climate, science, journalism, justice, and free speech.”
He continued: “It was a terrible night for the poor, for the middle class, for the elderly who rely on social security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for truth, democracy and decency.”
