Backlash Over Kimmel’s Family Member
Critics of Jimmy Kimmel are questioning whether his family shares his political passions after his sister-in-law, Carly Kimmel, allegedly bullied a local bakery over cookies promoting pro-Republican sentiments.
Reports from a well-known LA business indicate that Carly Kimmel expressed her discontent upon discovering cookies featuring Spencer Pratt’s campaign logo at Vincent Foods, a long-standing grocery store in Brentwood.
“What on earth happened to this family? They’re a group of psycho guys.”
In case you didn’t know, Spencer Pratt is running for mayor of Los Angeles following damage to his home in the Pacific Palisades fire. Kitson Boutique shared a post on Thursday with confirmations about the incident involving Kimmel’s sister-in-law, who is married to Kimmel’s brother.
“Attacks on small businesses seem to run in the family,” the post stated. “It’s worth noting that the last two legal cases concerning free speech and bakeries concluded with wins for the bakery. Check out Carly’s Instagram and let her know your thoughts.”
Many took to social media to vent their frustrations, visiting her account to voice their criticism.
The post also featured an image of the cookie adorned with Pratt’s distinctive hummingbird logo.
Critics didn’t hold back: one comment read, “Imagine crashing over cookies.” Another wrote, “What happened to the Kimmel family?” Many users echoed sentiments about the family’s bizarre behavior.
Karlie Kimmel has since set her Instagram account to private, which is hue of irony, given it’s titled “the Likeables.”
Attempts to contact the bakery for a statement yielded no response immediately, nor did inquiries to the grocery store or Karlie Kimmel receive replies.
Recent polls have shown Pratt gaining significant support, the largest rise among candidates since March, though currently, incumbent Mayor Karen Bass still holds a lead over him.
Pratt includes a hummingbird in his campaign materials, and there’s even a video circulating of the bird feeding from his hand before the family home was tragically lost to the fire.
