Jimmy Uso Aims for Solo Title Before Retiring
Jimmy Uso, a prominent figure in WWE tag team history, has expressed a desire to achieve one more milestone before retiring. At 40 years old, he is gearing up for a significant match at Wrestlepalooza this weekend, where he will join his twin brother Jey to take on Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. This match will mark a historic moment as the first EMF-free contest in WWE.
Ahead of WrestleMania 42, scheduled about seven months from now, Uso shared his aspirations. “I want to have a singles title to say I did it,” he mentioned. Despite having had success in tag teams—he’s won the championship eight times—he longs to prove himself in singles competition, especially after his brother’s move to Raw. “Even when my brother went solo, I still wanted to pursue that path,” Uso added. “I’m determined to hold a singles championship.”
On a personal note, Uso is also anticipating a major life change, as he and his wife, Trinity Fatu, expect their first child around the time of WrestleMania 42. She revealed her pregnancy last month, which led her to step back from championship pursuits. Uso shared his excitement: “By WrestleMania, our baby should be here. This world has changed so much for me recently.” He reflected on how quickly life can shift, emphasizing the new dynamics of family.
In his words, by April, he hopes to seize that singles title—a goal he’s clearly passionate about. “It’s all love, but honestly, I’m really looking forward to our little one arriving. It’s such an exciting time for us.” The upcoming match and personal milestones seem to be equally motivating for Uso as he navigates this pivotal moment in his life and career.
