More importantly, Biden has lost support among key voters: Polls show he has lost 10 points among independents and 19 points among black voters since May, while Trump has gained 2 points among independents since May and 4 points among black voters over the same period.

In head-to-head battles, Trump leads Biden by 8 points among independents, and among black respondents, Biden has 51 percent support compared to Trump’s 28 percent.

These results are consistent with a CBS News/YouGov poll released in late June, which also showed Trump receiving strong support among Black voters, garnering 23 percent approval, nearly double what he received in 2020.
