A last-minute bid to replace President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee wouldn’t make any difference because the failing policies would be the same, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley said in a television appearance on Friday. Breitbart News Daily.
Whatley responded to Thursday night’s debate by praising former President Donald Trump’s performance as completely “underwhelming” and calling Biden incredibly weak. And while there’s now widespread panic among Democrats, Whatley doesn’t think the situation will change, even if Biden is replaced by someone like Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.).
“I don’t think a change in the Democratic nominee would change the situation because there is no Democratic candidate whose positions are significantly different from Joe Biden’s,” Whatley explained, but made it clear that he did not think a change in the nominee was unlikely.
“They’re all going to stick to the same policies. They want open borders. They want higher inflation. I don’t understand why they want to weaken America. They don’t want America to be a leader on the world stage. They want American families to be devastated and people to become dependent on government. So even if they changed their policies, I don’t think it would make any difference in this race, because, like I said, it’s about strength and weakness, success and failure. And now we certainly see that President Trump can offer very strong solutions. How do you restore America’s standing in the world? How do you restore our southern border? How do you restore the economy and American prosperity?” he asked, pointing out that Democrats cannot make such big changes unless Biden leaves office.

“The delegates that voted for him in every primary are tied to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. And we’ve completely finished primaries across the country. All of the money that they’ve raised, the hundreds of millions of dollars that they’ve raised, has been raised for the Biden-Harris campaign. So there’s no way that they can change that, and they certainly won’t unless Jill Biden acknowledges that Joe Biden is out,” Whatley said.
He also agreed with call participants who said it was important for Republicans to focus on targeting the Democratic Party’s overall policies, rather than Biden’s age or mental state.
“This is the policy of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, regardless of who the candidate is. If you look at the Senate races and House races across the country, Democrats right now support Hamas. They support open borders. They support a weak economy. And I completely agree with Bill,” Whatley explained.
“We need to emphasize that Joe Biden is a product of the Democratic Party,” the Republican National Committee chairman stressed.
