Joe Biden Rolls Out Robert De Niro for Another Fundraising Plea Following Debate Disaster

Joe Biden has brought on Robert De Niro for another fundraising call less than a day after the president’s disastrous debate performance, leaving many big Democratic donors scrambling to find an alternative candidate.

The Biden campaign on Friday afternoon denounced the email fundraiser, which included a message from Robert De Niro, in which De Niro praised Biden for his “integrity, compassion and honest, intelligent leadership.” The email made no mention of Thursday’s presidential debate, which was widely seen as a disaster for Biden.

“Donald Trump is a tough guy with no morals or ethics who will do anything to gain power. As an actor, I could not play him. There is nothing human about him,” De Niro said.

“I strongly support Joe Biden. He’s a lifelong public servant and a man of great integrity. I have full confidence in him to run our country. you First of all, Trump only cares about himself.”

The Biden campaign strongly condemned a similar email in May, the day after De Niro held a press conference in New York where he exchanged verbal abuse with Trump supporters.

Joe Biden seemed more confused and flustered than usual during Thursday’s debate. In one shocking moment early on in the live CNN broadcast, he began rambling gibberish, bowed his head and appeared to fall completely silent, only to quickly wake up and proclaim, “We finally won Medicare.”

Biden had several lapses throughout the night, struggling to finish his scripted final remarks, and Jill Biden was seen leading her husband off the stage at the end of the broadcast.

Biden’s poor performance has caused panic among Democratic Party leaders, donors and the mainstream media, with many calling for him to be replaced as the presidential candidate.

But Biden shows no signs of relinquishing power.

Campaign advisers said the president has no plans to withdraw from the race.
