Joe Biden was ‘Stupidly Selfish’ to Pardon Hunter

Former Never Trumper Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) said President Joe Biden's pardon of his son Hunter Biden “strengthens Trump” and “furthers Americans' cynicism about politics.” “We will do so,” he said, calling it a “stupid and selfish” decision.

Mr. Walsh, who also unsuccessfully campaigned against President-elect Donald Trump in the 2020 Republican primary, went on a multi-post rant against X on Sunday after Mr. Biden. announced He said he pardoned his son after he was “unjustly prosecuted.”

“This is complete bullshit, completely false, and stupidly selfish. Shame on you, @POTUS, for giving Trump permission to benefit his family and wealthy friends. And when he does that, you've given his supporters an opportunity to say, “Everyone does it.” And by the way, Biden, you lied,” Walsh wrote to his 466,400 followers.

“Biden lied. Shame on him. He lied. So the next time Trump lies, Americans will shrug their shoulders and say, 'All politicians lie. You can say, “I'm on it.” Way to go Joe Biden,” he said in a follow-up post.

The former congressman went on to point out people's “cynicism” and complain about how Biden's Hunter pardon move is helping to “fuel Trump and Trumpism.”

“How selfish of Biden. He selfishly stayed in the race too long and is now like this. It's a shame,” Walsh said.

Despite pleas from his liberal audience to stop criticizing Biden, Walsh continued:

“After years of talking about what a unique threat Trump is, this pardon is completely disappointing,” he wrote in another post. “So now, like Trump, Hunter Biden is above the law? So now, like Trump, Joe Biden is complaining about the 'weaponization of justice?' . So does Biden, like Trump, favor his family and wealthy friends? So now Biden is repeating the same lies as Trump? ”

“By the way, to those of you who support this pardon, please don't complain that most Americans no longer see anything particularly bad about Trump,” Walsh added.

Walsh's rant continued on Sunday night on MSNBC, during which he reiterated how “depressed” he felt.

“Joe Biden has repeatedly said he won't do this, so he lied repeatedly,” he said. “But this only adds to people's cynicism about politics, and that cynicism strengthens Trump because he can say, 'I'm not a special threat.' Everyone does this. ”

“I understand that, but this is a self-serving move by Biden and only strengthens Trump politically. It's just chilling,” he added.

Mr. Walsh's X attack continued after his TV appearance, saying, “When Joe Biden said tonight that Hunter would not have been charged and prosecuted if his last name wasn't Biden, that was the exact same argument Trump made about them.'' Everyone knows that,” he posted. 34 felonies, right? ”:

He again criticized the president for staying in the race for “too long,” which “led to Trump's reelection.”

Walsh added on Monday morning that he had “no problem” pursuing Biden's pardon for his son, while also saying, “Donald Trump is the most corrupt, dishonest, lawless person to ever sit in the White House. ” he said.

“I will not forgive him,” Biden said after Hunter, 54, was convicted on three federal gun charges in June.

Sentencing was scheduled for Wednesday, but hill reported.
