Joe Exotic’s husband sent back to Mexico following ICE detention

Reports indicate that Joe Exotic’s husband has been deported to Mexico due to immigration violations while serving time.

Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Allen Maldonado Passage, is reaching out to President Trump for assistance to secure a reprieve for partners like him.

In a recent Instagram post, Exotic shared a photo with his husband, Jorge Flores Maldonado, stating, “They officially take him to an ICE detention center for hearing, deciding whether he stays in the US or goes back to Mexico.”

Maldonado was sent back to Mexico just hours after his immigration hearing, as confirmed by reports.

The couple recently married in a Texas prison facility. Exotic, 63, is currently serving a 21-year sentence for orchestrating the murder of rival Carol Baskin, among other charges.

In his post, Exotic appealed to the current administration, expressing the difficulties he and his family have faced, and mentioned wanting to watch the second season of “Tiger King.”

Previously, it was reported that Maldonado had been addressing immigration issues, according to sources.

Documents reveal that Maldonado was allegedly involved in transporting other undocumented immigrants across the border.

After announcing their engagement, Exotic indicated plans to secure something for Maldonado or risk leaving the country together.

Responding to a fan’s comment wishing him well on his appeal, Exotic said he would be okay with going to Mexico if released.

Exotic also posted a painting he created while at his ICE hearing, which he left for his husband prior to his deportation.

He expressed on social media, “Everyone!! I forgot to show you what Jorge remembers him.”

ICE has not yet commented on the situation.

Exotic rose to international fame through the Netflix documentary “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, Madness,” which showcased his life and work with exotic animals at the Golden Week Zoo in Winnewood, Oklahoma. He was arrested during the filming in September 2018.
