Flacco’s Fantasy Football Dilemma

Joe Flacco discovered that family support doesn’t always guarantee success in fantasy football.

In a Week 2 matchup against the Ravens in 2025, a scene from the Netflix series “Quarterback” depicted Flacco’s family chatting about the potential addition of the Browns quarterback to their fantasy roster.

“If my dad left, I would collapse,” commented Frank Flacco, Joe’s son, while seated in the stands at M&T Bank Stadium.

His wife, Dana Flacco, probed further, asking why they hadn’t picked him. Frank replied, “I benched him,” indicating his choice for the fantasy lineup.

To this, Dana expressed a wishful, “I hope he’s gone,” though it became apparent that her husband was also sidelined in the fantasy team lineup.

Ultimately, the decision seemed justified as Joe Flacco’s performance was lackluster. In the game against Baltimore, he completed 25 of 45 passes, accumulating 199 yards, throwing one touchdown, and one interception, leading to a 41-17 defeat. He also lost a fumble.

This meant Flacco would’ve earned just 7.96 points in a conventional fantasy league setting.

Since the release of all eight episodes of the latest “Quarterback” season, the Flacco family has gained a wave of new fans.

In a humorous moment, Flacco was engaged in a lighthearted conversation with former teammate Shedule Sanders about visors. He mused, “Yeah, but the reason you wear a visor is to look good.” He voiced his disapproval of the trend, stating that as a kid, he once desired a visor but later found them impractical.

Flacco concluded by joking that he might don one during a game if the Browns secured a win.

Having signed a one-year, $6 million deal with the Bengals, which could escalate to $9 million with bonuses, Flacco is gearing up for another season.
