Joe Rogan Attends Christian Church
Podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan has shared his experiences attending a Christian church, describing it as a “very wonderful” place where people are genuinely striving to improve themselves. During a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience, which featured fellow comedians Shane Gillis, Mark Normand, and Ali Shafir, Rogan discussed his church attendance after Normand commented on Rogan’s decision to stop drinking for three months.
“It’s actually very good,” Rogan remarked. “They’re all just trying to be better people. That’s a good vibe.” This conversation took shape when Normand expressed surprise at Rogan’s churchgoing.
Rogan asked Normand if he had ever been to church, to which Normand replied affirmatively and questioned why Rogan hadn’t attended a Catholic church. “I tried it. I did it,” Rogan explained, recalling some of his own experiences. Normand then shared a fond memory of receiving a rosary at church, calling it lovely.
When asked about what type of church he attended, Rogan simply stated, “It’s just a Christian church,” with Shafir adding that it’s non-denominational. A light-hearted moment surfaced when Gillis joked about charismatic church behavior, prompting Normand to chime in, “Yeah, all that Joel Osteen stuff?” Rogan humorously responded, “Yeah, I’m just giving all the money to Osteen,” before shifting the topic back to his decision to stop drinking.
He explained that he wanted to experience life without alcohol after a long period of drinking. “And it’s been so much better. You feel so much better,” he added. Rogan also acknowledged that he occasionally worries about feeling bored at night without alcohol, though he enjoys the atmosphere of stand-up shows and spending time in the green room.
This interest in Christianity isn’t new for Rogan; he sparked attention last year during a viral discussion with Christian apologist Wes Huff about miracles and faith. Huff mentioned that Rogan has been attending church regularly. “It was consistent,” Huff said during an appearance on another podcast, indicating that their conversations attracted Rogan’s curiosity about spiritual matters.
Huff expressed that discussions with Rogan over the past months have been “very encouraging,” hinting at shared interests in revival topics that have resonated with both of them.
