Joe Logan has once again voiced his criticism of the Trump administration’s immigration policies, particularly addressing MAGA lawmakers on Wednesday regarding their stance on deportations. He highlighted the public sentiment that, rather than targeting dangerous individuals, these actions seem to focus on removing hard-working people, like landscapers.

During a discussion on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Logan engaged with Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna, challenging her claims about federal immigration enforcement and how it impacts the immigrant community. He expressed doubts about whether government actions genuinely aimed to take down only dangerous criminals.

Luna suggested that the protests against recent immigration actions were financially influenced by “Chinese money.” Logan acknowledged the possibility of that but pointed out that there’s significant public outrage tied to the nature of these actions—people feel alarmed when families are targeted or when workers are taken from places like Home Depot.

He said the public’s response seems almost instinctual, reacting to the notion of law enforcement separating hardworking individuals from their daily lives. “That astonishes people,” he remarked, emphasizing the idea that voters expected efforts to focus on violent criminals rather than everyday workers.

Logan summarized that when the public thought about ICE interventions, their assumptions were about getting rid of gang members, not people who simply maintain gardens or hold daytime jobs.

This discussion reveals a stark divide between the harsh language often used about border enforcement and the reality that many critics cling to. While Logan has been a supporter of Trump’s policies, he increasingly questions the methods employed in these immigration sweeps.

He contested the narrative that immigrants could just “line up” for legal status, noting that many individuals in low-wage jobs genuinely lack the resources to navigate the immigration system. “If you’re just a landscape gardener… you might not have the means to hire a lawyer,” he pointed out.

Luna, in her response, attempted to shift the focus to the tenure of Biden and Obama, but Logan maintained his stance on two recurring themes in this ongoing debate.

Recently, Logan criticized the tactics being used, insisting that the focus has strayed from where it should be. “That’s ridiculous,” he said, further stressing the kind of people being apprehended—migrant workers rather than actual criminals like cartel members or gang leaders.

He concluded that no one expected that kind of enforcement to unfold. While Trump has made repeated promises to address serious offenders, reports indicate that those with no criminal history are increasingly being taken into custody, which aligns with Logan’s argument about a mismatch between promises and actions.

Despite praising Trump’s broader agenda, Logan rejected certain execution aspects of it, even stating that the administration has mismanaged various issues, like the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Recent data from ICE custody reveals that many individuals held were not convicted of crimes, contradicting the purported aims of focusing on serious offenders. A spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security mentioned that “70% of ICE arrests are illegal aliens who have been charged or convicted” in the U.S., although they noted that this doesn’t account for other dangerous elements like fugitives or gang members.

Comment requests have been sent to Luna and the White House regarding these discussions.
