Joe Rogan, Mel Gibson blast Gov. Newsom amid wildfires: ‘Personally ruined’ California

Podcaster Joe Rogan, a longtime critic of California Governor Gavin Newsom, spoke with film director Mel Gibson on Thursday and delivered scathing criticism of the Democratic Party.

Wildfires continue to burn in the Palisades and across Los Angeles County, leaving many prominent people in the Palisades homeless, with more than 27,000 acres burned and more than 10,000 homes destroyed as of Thursday, according to local authorities. Structures were destroyed and at least seven people were killed.

“I'd be surprised if my house was still there,” Gibson told Southern California from his studio in Logan, Texas, adding that his son, a volunteer firefighter, “sent me a video of the neighborhood, and it looks like my house is still there.” It looks like it's on fire,” he said. It's hell. ” Mr. Gibson later admitted that his home had indeed been destroyed.

“Do you think this will finally get you out of California?” asked Logan, himself a former Californian.

“Yeah, maybe,” Gibson replied, suggesting he might go to his home in Costa Rica.

The conversation then turned to how the state is run by an overwhelmingly Democratic administration.

“Last year they spent $24 billion on homelessness, but what did they spend on preventing these wildfires?” Logan asked. “Zip.”

“Zip,” Gibson agreed. “And in 2019, Newsom said he was going to take care of the forests, maintain the forests, and all these other things. He did nothing.”

“Plus, they turned off the water,” Logan said.

Gibson then joked: “I guess all our tax money went to Gavin's hair gel.”

Flashback: Logan warned last summer that future wildfires would “burn through L.A. to the ocean”

“There is so much mismanagement across the state,” the podcast host argued. “It's so frustrating and confusing. And then he goes on TV and acts like everything is great. Like, 'California is great, it's the best state, it's the best economy'… You're insane. –Be careful, dude.

“You've ruined this state, you've personally ruined this state,” Logan said of Newsom.

“Well, the same team that was in San Francisco is coming to Los Angeles and doing the same things that they were doing in San Francisco,” Gibson said.

“San Francisco feels like an apocalypse right now. I've been there, same with the homeless people, it's just a mess,” he added.

“I can't believe society could collapse so quickly,” Logan said.
