Joe Rogan reacts to the controversy surrounding Shane Gillis' comment about women dressing inappropriately at gyms.

Joe Rogan, the renowned podcaster, has entered the contentious conversation surrounding a joke made by Shane Gillis about women dressing provocatively at the gym.

During his monologue on his third stint hosting “Saturday Night Live,” Gillis shared his thoughts about gym attire he observed in New York City.

‘I have no problem with women dressing like that. Have fun. God bless you. If you have a great body, especially, show it off to the world. Who cares?’

He remarked, “Wow, I haven’t been to the gym for quite some time, and I had no idea women were dressing like… well, how do I put this? It seems a bit much.” According to him, it seemed like he had no other term for it.

Gillis further described the bright shorts that women wear as being reminiscent of fishing lures, with some tight styles that leave little to the imagination. “And you better not look,” he chuckled, noting his uncanny presence in several TikToks.

The left reacted strongly, criticizing the joke as misogynistic. Actor Dan Levy was particularly vocal, suggesting that it could encourage more violence against women.

On “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Rogan came to Gillis’s defense. He clarified that the focus of Gillis’s joke was more about himself than the women at the gym.

“The joke is about Shane. He’s the one who ends up looking creepy, not the women,” Rogan explained.

Rogan recounted seeing women at the gym wearing revealing shorts, sometimes with little visibility when doing exercises. He humorously noted that he could even guess one woman’s pregnancy status just by observing her from behind.

Despite the light-hearted banter, Rogan offered a serious perspective on the topic. He remarked, “Misogyny is a real issue… There are genuinely terrible men out there. However, I don’t think Shane falls into that category. It’s just humor, not malice.”

He reiterated, “I honestly have no issue with how women choose to dress at the gym. If you’ve got it, flaunt it! Enjoy yourself, who cares?”

In another development, Spotify has reportedly renewed its lucrative contract with Rogan, estimated at around $250 million. His show continues to dominate Spotify’s rankings, boasting over 18 million followers, along with an additional 21.1 million on his YouTube channel.
