Joe Rogan Discusses Alleged Murder by Former Podcast Guest

Recently, Joe Rogan revealed a disturbing incident involving a former guest on his podcast who, he claims, “decapitated a man” in New York City shortly after appearing on the show.

This unsettling information surfaced in a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. During the conversation with physician Zach Bush, Rogan referenced an interview with murder suspect Sheldon Johnson, discussing the presence of sociopaths in society.

“After the podcast, there was a guy in the studio who decapitated a guy. He killed the guy and cut off his head,” Rogan stated, drawing attention to the shocking turn of events.

The former MMA commentator mentioned that Johnson was present on his podcast alongside civil rights attorney Josh Dubin, who works with wrongfully convicted individuals, just weeks before the alleged murder.

“He did a podcast and then went to a guy he obviously had a beef with and killed him, decapitated him, and put him in a suitcase,” Rogan commented. It’s like, well, he just sort of went off the rails, you know?

At the time, Johnson was involved in criminal justice activism. He was arrested in March 2024 after police found a dismembered body belonging to a 44-year-old man named Colin Small, with a head hidden in a freezer in a Bronx apartment, as reported by the NYPD.

Authorities were alerted to the situation after neighbors reported hearing gunshots and seeing unfamiliar figures coming in and out of the apartment. The building supervisor was concerned enough to call the police.

Surveillance footage allegedly shows Johnson in the building’s elevator, then walking towards his apartment. Later, he was spotted leaving with cleaning supplies and a mop around 2 a.m.

Johnson reportedly returned to the scene dressed in different clothes and a blonde wig.

Upon investigating his Harlem apartment, police located human remains, including a dismembered arm and leg, all showing signs of gunshot wounds, as noted by CNN.

Johnson now faces charges including murder, manslaughter, and possession of a weapon, having pleaded not guilty.

Before his podcast appearance, Johnson had spent 25 years in prison for a series of armed robberies and was released in 2019. Following his release, he began working as a client attorney in a public defender’s office. He claimed to have been affiliated with the Bloods gang and had a history of robbing people he owed money to.

While incarcerated, he said he decided to change his life, earning his GED as a step toward a new path. In his interview with Rogan, he discussed his commitment to criminal justice reform and how he aimed to turn his life around.
