One of Joe Scarborough's favorite words is “hypocrite.”
The aging hipster host of MSNBC's liberal show “Morning Joe” frequently accuses President Donald Trump of obvious “hypocrisy,” and in October he appeared on “Daily” I was furious that he was making such hypocritical statements.
Despite frequently clashing over the past eight years, Mar-a-Lago's Scarborough, 61, and his wife, co-host Mika Brzezinski, 57, finalized their differences last Sunday. He met with President-elect Donald Trump to resolve the issue.
There are those, including Jon Stewart, who believe the word hypocrite applies well to Scarborough.
And those who know him say such behavior is nothing new.
A former “Morning Joe” guest, who spoke anonymously for career reasons, told the Post: “Joe Scarborough has proven once again that opportunism is the bad guy.
“He is an empty person. There is nothing in him except the desire for success and social status.
“There's nothing he won't say, bend, or do. If he were a comic book character (which he looks a lot like), he'd be called Breaky Bendy.”
An MSNBC spokesperson told the Post that she disagreed with this characterization.
Trump supporters were quick to accuse Joe and Micah of being “shameless” and of suddenly sucking up to Trump and “kissing the ring.”
Nikki Haley posted on X: They realized they needed Trump to survive,” even if their point of view was the opposite of his.
But network officials scoffed at the claim, saying any prominent journalist would want to meet with the president-elect.
Scarborough has already made a major U-turn by becoming the host of the most liberal mainstream network. Previously, from 1995 to 2001, Scarborough was a Republican elected official in Florida; withdraw from the United Nations.
“Twenty-five years ago, he spoke at the Princeton Club, and he was there as an elected official,” Doug Dechert, a media consultant who attended the lecture, told the Post. “The event was sponsored by Pfizer, with free drinks and free hors d'oeuvres. I was shocked when he sold out on MSNBC. My guess is he never climbed the hierarchy as a Republican. I think it is.”

A former staffer on the show recalled Mr Scarborough as “arrogant” and “unable to deal with executive-level decisions about the show”.

When Mr. Scarborough started a show called “Scarborough Country” on MSNBC in 2007, he was a congressman and was strictly a Republican on television.
Mika became his co-host and his democratic foil. Politically speaking, Joe and Micah haven't been in opposing political camps for long. The couple visited President Trump at Mar-a-Lago, where they also spent New Year's Eve, before Trump described Brzezinski as “crazy” and claimed his face was bleeding as a result of plastic surgery. Scarborough switched to the Democratic Party in 2017 and became publicly known through an appearance on “The Late Show with Steve Colbert.”
But it is currently unclear whether he is about to make another shocking political U-turn after his apparent rapprochement talks with President Trump.
