Joe Scarborough Warns Democrats Should Not Get Too Confident About Winning Swing States

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough warned Thursday on “Morning Joe” that Democrats shouldn't be overly confident about their electoral prospects in key battleground states in November.

Scarborough pointed to polls showing no clear leader in key battleground states, including Pennsylvania and Michigan, and said it was unclear whether Vice President Kamala Harris or Republican nominee Donald Trump would win in those states, where the former president's support was significantly lower in both 2016 and 2020, the MSNBC host said.

“And if Democrats are feeling more confident, people need to remember that Donald Trump's support in the upper Midwest states was significantly underestimated in polls in 2016 and especially in 2020,” Scarborough said.

The panel showed the results of CNN/SSRS. vote This shows Harris leading Trump 50% to 44% in Wisconsin and 48% to 43% in Michigan, while Harris and Trump are tied 47% to 47% in Pennsylvania and Harris leads 49% to 44% in Arizona.

Scarborough said the CNN/SSRS poll likely did not accurately represent support for Trump, and history shows Trump is effectively tied with Harris in those battleground states.
