Joe Schoen’s message to Saquon Barkley after Eagles’ Super Bowl win

Joe Shane has no harsh feelings towards Saquon Berkley after winning the Super Bowl.

The Giants general manager only had kind words to the Eagles running at a press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday.

“I'm happy with Saquon,” Shane said. “Obviously he kept winning the Super Bowl. We wish him the best.”

Similarly, Shane defended the franchise's decision to let Berkley walk through free agency last summer.

“…we were somewhere else in the build, always trying to appreciate every decision you made,” he said. “Again, I love Saquon and I wish him the best.”

Of course, Barkley bolted out of New York for Philadelphia after six seasons with Big Blue and signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles before the three-year, 2024 season.

The deal proved to be one of the biggest steals in NFL history recently after Berkley scored a career-high 2,005 yards with a total of 15 touchdowns during the regular season.

Earlier this month, before the Super Bowl on February 9th, Berkley faithfully expressed his love for the Giants.

“My message to Giants fans would be, 'It's just love,'” Berkley said. “It's naive to think they haven't supported me over the past six years. Obviously some of them were disappointed with my decision, but the way I see it, everything that happened over there , and the love I have for them is why I can get the success I have now.”

While playing on the podium, Shane also worked on the Giants' starting quarterback plan this offseason.

“I'm going to take the swing in that position,” Shane said. “It's the most important position and it's hard to find them, so keep shaking. Keep shaking in position until you find them.”
