John Bolton’s Secret Service Detail Ended Under Trump Administration

Former national security adviser John Bolton was stripped of his Secret Service status on the same day that President Donald Trump revoked his security status, according to multiple reports.

CNN reported Bolton acknowledged that he fired Secret Service employees assigned to him “within hours” of Trump's inauguration.

some sources too informed CBS News said the decision to fire Bolton's Secret Service staff was made “within the past 24 hours.”

in statement Bolton expressed on X that he was disappointed but not surprised that “President Trump” had fired his Secret Service staff. Bolton added that despite his “criticism” of former President Joe Biden's national security policies, Biden “made the decision to extend” Bolton's Secret Service detail protection.

“I am disappointed, but not surprised, by President Trump's decision to end the protections previously provided by the U.S. Secret Service,” Bolton wrote. “Despite my criticism of President Biden's national security policies, he made the decision to extend that protection to me in 2021.”

“In 2022, the Department of Justice filed criminal charges against an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps official for trying to hire a hitman to target me,” Bolton added. “That threat remains today, as evidenced by the recent arrest of the man who tried to arrange President Trump's own assassination. Americans can decide for themselves which president made the right decision. .”

As Breitbart News' Christina Wong previously reported, President Trump also revoked Bolton's security clearance “over the publication of a revealing memoir detailing his time in the Trump administration.”

by presidential order signed “After Mr. Bolton was fired from the White House in 2019, he published a memoir for financial gain,” Trump's order said, adding, “The book includes information from his time in the administration. It was full of confidential information obtained during the period,” he added.

National security is also compromised by the release of classified information. Former national security adviser John R. Bolton published his memoir for financial gain after he was fired from the White House in 2019. The book was full of confidential information obtained during the administration. The memoir's reckless handling of classified information undermined the ability of future presidents to seek and obtain candid advice from their staff on matters of national security. Publication also created a significant risk that confidential information would be made publicly available.

To correct this abuse of public trust, this order directs the revocation of current or existing security clearances held by: (i) A former intelligence official who engaged in misleading and inappropriate political coordination with the 2020 Biden presidential campaign. (ii) John R. Bolton.

Bolton, who previously served as the third national security adviser during Trump's first administration, has been an outspoken critic of Trump.

In an interview on NBC Meet the press now In December 2022, Bolton said he would “absolutely” run for president to prevent Trump from winning the presidential election.
