John Legend tells Trump to stop the 'dictator behavior' if he aims for a Nobel Peace Prize

John Legend Urges Trump for Positive Change Before Nobel Peace Prize

John Legend, the acclaimed singer-songwriter, recently expressed that if President Trump aims to secure the Nobel Peace Prize next year, he needs to shift his approach, particularly his treatment of others. In a video on Instagram, Legend addressed Trump, who has voiced ambitions for the award, suggesting he might require some “positive reinforcement” to alter what Legend describes as Trump’s “terrible behavior.”

Praising Trump’s involvement in facilitating the Gaza ceasefire hostage agreement, Legend acknowledged this as a significant achievement. He remarked that it was “a step in the right direction” and expressed hope for its longevity.

Although a critic of the president, Legend signaled support for Trump’s campaign for the Peace Prize, noting the urgency of the timeline. “They give it out every year, so don’t lose hope, President Trump. You can make this happen,” he pointed out. “I genuinely want this for you—and for all of us.”

Legend emphasized that winning the Peace Prize would likely require more than just achieving peace in the Middle East. He outlined specific domestic priorities he believes Trump should prioritize if he is serious about winning the award.

He stated, “The so-called peace president who seeks to end global wars will need to cease his conflicts with the American populace.” Legend urged Trump to stop sending military forces into cities governed by Democrats and to end harassment of immigrant communities via ICE agents. He also called for the cessation of political prosecutions based on questionable charges.

“He needs to put an end to authoritarian tactics and inhumane actions,” Legend insisted, adding that it’s vital for everyone to genuinely wish Trump success with the Nobel Peace Prize for the betterment of the country.

Legend encouraged Trump to consider changing his governing style in anticipation of the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize discussions. “President Trump, let’s get to work,” he said, underscoring the importance of significant changes in administration philosophy and conduct within the remaining year.

He advised that children often respond positively to encouragement. “Since we’ve tried negative reinforcement—impeachment, indictments—let’s pivot to positive reinforcement,” he remarked, assuring Trump that collaboration could lead to improved behavior and, ultimately, the Peace Prize he aspires to achieve.

The White House has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding Legend’s statements.
