Jordan Addison Pleads Guilty to DUI Charges
Jordan Addison has pleaded guilty to lesser charges related to his DUI incident in 2024. The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver’s lawyer, Jacqueline Sparagna, mentioned to ESPN that Addison accepted a “wet and reckless” plea deal. This comes with 12 months of probation, a $390 fine, and the completion of two online courses.
Sparagna noted, “While his case could have gone to trial, I respect Addison for taking responsibility and accepting the city’s terms.” She added that this allows him to move past the incident and concentrate on his promising career.
His agent, Tim Young, commented on social media, stating that over the past year, Addison has willingly participated in activities dealing with drunk driving alongside his mother. Young expressed that Addison intends to continue supporting such organizations while navigating these legal matters, maintaining his commitment to being a valuable team member.
However, there are potential consequences. The league’s substance abuse policy may lead to a three-game suspension for Addison. The NFL released a statement saying they are closely monitoring the situation.
Addison’s troubles began last July when he was arrested after being found “sleeping behind the wheel” near Los Angeles International Airport. It was noted that his blood alcohol content was likely above the legal limit of .08%.
The incident marks Addison’s second driving infraction, following a citation for driving 140 mph on I-94 in Minnesota a year earlier.
In his two seasons with the Vikings, he has recorded 133 receptions for 1,786 yards and 19 touchdowns. In reflecting on the past, Addison acknowledged a “dark place” after his arrest, but it seems he is eager to move forward, regardless of the disciplinary actions that may come his way.
