Jorge Martinez: America First Is Succeeding, and Democrats Lack a Response for 2026

Americans are looking for results, not rhetoric, and the difference is quite apparent as we approach 2026 and the midterm elections.

As the nation enters the second term of President Donald Trump, the political scene seems less about partisan squabbles and more influenced by actual measurable outcomes.

On one side, there are government policies focused on results—part of the America First Agenda—which emphasize affordability, prosperity, and security. Meanwhile, Democrats appear to be struggling to present a coherent strategy, often resorting to crisis politics as they face potential defeat in 2024. With the current Continuing Resolution approaching its expiration, stories about the federal government possibly shutting down are becoming more prevalent.

Almost a year after losing the White House, Democrats have not published any significant findings from their post-election review. There’s no accountability or clear acknowledgment of what went wrong. Was it rising inflation that tightened households’ budgets? Or perhaps open borders that overwhelmed communities? Maybe energy policies have made fuel and electricity more expensive? The lack of clarity leaves Americans speculating, as Democrats seem to prefer chaos over admitting faults.

Rather than offering constructive solutions, Democratic leaders are once again threatening a government shutdown, fully aware of the consequences for federal employees, military families, seniors, and small businesses. This tactic aims to sow discord, shift blame to Washington, and make voters forget who ignited these issues. That’s not true leadership; it’s a cycle of attrition.

In contrast, President Trump has wasted no time taking action.

Within just one year, the Trump-Vance administration has systematically overturned previous policies to lay the groundwork for long-term economic growth. After reaching generation-high peaks, inflation has started to ease due to reduced regulatory overreach and increased domestic energy production. Gas prices have stabilized, supporting working households as federal leasing and pipeline projects regain importance.

The administration is committed to ensuring affordable prices across the board. With daily necessities becoming cheaper and real wage growth again outpacing inflation, there’s a renewed sense of trust among small and medium enterprises as compliance costs have dropped. Capital investment is picking up, with America striving to be the top destination for jobs, innovation, and manufacturing, as evidenced by a surge in reshoring announcements.

In terms of trade, the balance has shifted favorably for America. Strategic tariffs and thoughtful regulations have shrunk the trade deficit and strengthened vital domestic industries. Blue-collar workers, often overlooked in past economic strategies, are being prioritized once more.

When it comes to security, the Trump-Vance administration has reasserted operational control over the southern border, significantly curbing illegal crossings. Communities that were once overwhelmed are starting to experience stability. With law enforcement being supported rather than criticized, violent crime trends are showing signs of stabilization as accountability replaces political ideology.

On the global stage, America is leading decisively. Allies are reassured of U.S. commitments, while adversaries are reconsidering their strategies. The Trump Doctrine emphasizes strength through shared responsibility, effectively restoring deterrence without resorting to endless conflicts.

Some critics may say that not all Americans are feeling the effects of recovery yet, which is a fair point and highlights the extent of previous damage caused by years of mismanagement. However, the trajectory is changing, fundamentals are improving, and a sense of optimism is beginning to resurface.

This makes the year 2026 pivotal.

Democrats will head into midterm elections without a solid governing record, lacking transparency regarding past failures, and might contemplate another government shutdown for political leverage. In contrast, Republicans are presenting promises of reduced costs, strengthened borders, new economic growth, and renewed confidence in America.

Trust will be crucial in the elections. Voters will have to decide between a party that stands for progress and stability and another that remains entrenched in dysfunction and division. The evidence of performance is accumulating, results are tangible, and the America First policy is delivering on its promises.
