Jorge Masvidal defends Trump as a free thinker

UFC legend Jorge Masvidal says his support for President Donald Trump stems from years of watching President Trump push his own thoughts and ideas while other politicians were bought off. Ta.

Mr. Masvidal, who is of Cuban descent, has long defended Mr. Trump while accusing the Democratic Party of slowly moving toward communism.

During election coverage on the night of the Republican victory, Masvidal was asked by podcast host Patrick Bett-David why he likes Trump so much.

“In 2015/16, I started watching him do what he was supposed to do, and he said one thing that first caught my eye,” Masvidal began. “So he said no one was in his pocket. He said he was in every politician's pocket.” [and] He let them do whatever he wanted, and no one went into his pocket. He rewarded everyone. ”

In 2023, Masvidal defended Trump in the face of indictment in New York City, likening the charges to the actions of a communist government.

“My family lived through that era, and history tells us that this is a play that came out of a communist scenario,” Masvidal said at the time.

The 40-year-old warned that if the charges against Trump go through, there is no telling where the government's persecution will stop.

“This has happened before in history, and every time it happens, it just gets worse. We can't let the left take over,” Masvidal warned.

Masvidal lost a decision to fellow UFC legend Nate Diaz in a boxing match in July.

In September, Masvidal said he was aiming to return to the UFC. He is still under contract with the organization. ESPNtold the UFC that he would like to fight Leon Edwards, who is number one in the middleweight rankings.
