MSNBC host Joy Reid on Monday slammed “rich white” Democrats who have criticized President Biden, implying that their public calls for Biden not to seek reelection could lead to former President Trump being re-elected.
“Please, privileged, wealthy, white Democrats, continue to publicly throw your party leader and your president out the window to satisfy the media’s craving for ‘Democratic Party mess’ stories,” Reid said flippantly.
The host of “The Leadout” suggested Democrats are turning their backs on Biden because they’re “scared” of losing their seats and don’t know how to campaign on “a booming economy, high-tech jobs and $35 insulin.”
“So the most important people here are you, right? You and your donors, of course. Not your party’s base voters. They’re the ones who are the most important. President Trump’s China Tariffs She said:
The White House has insisted Biden is “absolutely not” abandoning his reelection campaign. “He’s going to keep campaigning.”

Reid also said Democrats would be the first to be fired from their federal jobs under Project 2025, or “shot dead in the street” by President Trump’s “storm troopers” if they dared to protest.
“You’re fine just being you,” Reid added.
The MSNBC host’s response to Democratic fears about Biden’s chances of reelection stood in contrast to past comments she made after the June 27 debate.
In her post-debate analysis on MSNBC, Reid said Democrats, particularly “people in the campaign” had frantically texted her concerns that Biden “looked very weak and weak,” adding that Biden’s performance had unsettled many in the party heading into November.
The longtime White House defender said a president’s main job is to convince his party he is mentally and physically capable of serving another four years in office. Biden, he said, has “done the opposite.”

“He had to calm the Democrats down… Democrats always say Democrats wet the bed, Democrats [are] “They’re always panicking, they’re always nervous. But Joe Biden’s job tonight was to reassure them. His job was to calm the party, to make them feel like, ‘Yes, I can do this. I have four more years. I have the ability and the stamina and the strength to do four more years,'” she said.
“He didn’t do that; he did the opposite,” Reid continued.
As Biden campaigns, he is urging Democrats to stop questioning whether he should stop seeking reelection.
