A federal judge has allowed the Trump administration to proceed with plans that require illegal immigrants to register with the government or face consequences following a lawsuit from the Coalition on the Rights of Humanitarian Immigration.
The new federal program comes from an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on his first day in office, and orders the Department of Homeland Security to comply with Section 262 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 USC 1302). Failure to comply with registration requirements is treated as a civil and criminal execution priority.
