Judge Judy reacts to viral Las Vegas courtroom attack

Judith Sheindlin, a famous former judge and television personality, said she was surprised that a convicted felon who jumped the courtroom was not shot and killed in a recent attack on a judge in Las Vegas, Nevada. .

In the video in question, Redden was attending a sentencing hearing on a charge of attempted battery inflicting great bodily harm. The man's lawyer argued for a suspended sentence, but the judge said he thought it was “time for the man to taste something else.”

Redden then jumped over the bench and launched a barrage of attacks on the judge, who had to be restrained by several staff members.

“I was actually shocked that this defendant made it this far without being shot by anyone,” Judge Judy said. “It was probably a flash in the pan,” she continued.

Redden, 30, is a three-time convicted felon who has been on probation multiple times and was accused of biting a woman, according to reports. He also reportedly has nine misdemeanor convictions.
