Julian McMahon, star of 'Nip/Tuck', has died at 56

Julian McMahon, celebrated for his roles in “Nip/Tuck” and “Charmed”, has passed away following a private struggle with cancer. He was 56.

His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared the news on Friday, noting that he died peacefully in Clearwater, Florida, after a courageous fight against his illness.

“Julian cherished life, his family, friends, work, and fans. His greatest desire was to spread joy,” she mentioned, adding a request for privacy as the family grieves.

In her words, she expressed hope that his spirit would continue bringing joy and gratitude for the memories they shared.

The specific type of cancer he was battling has not been disclosed.

Julian’s acting career debuted in 1989 with the Australian soap “Power, Passion.” He achieved recognition with a Golden Globe nomination for his role in FX’s “Nip/Tuck” in 2005, which ran for six seasons.

His film career began with a role in the 1992 film “Wet and Wild Summer!” After appearances in NBC’s “Another World” and “Profiler”, he gained a recurring role in “Charmed”. Yet, it was his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy in “Nip/Tuck” that truly defined his career.

Outside of television, McMahon also appeared as Victor Von Doom in the “Fantastic Four” series, first in the 2005 film and repeating his role in 2007’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”.

More recently, he played Jess Lacroix in “FBI: Most Wanted” for three seasons and had a part in Netflix’s “The Residence.”
