A friendly bet between PGA Tour veterans caused a lot of laughter among those who watch golf and college football.
Sam Barnes and Justin Thomas appeared to be betting on the big game between Alabama and LSU. Barnes lost that bet as the Crimson Tide defeated the Tigers 42-28 in Tuscaloosa.
They were both in the American Express field, and Thomas apparently demanded payment of the debt.
Thomas posted a photo on his Instagram Story of Barnes with the letters “RTR” shaved on the side of his head. For those who don't know, “RTR” stands for “Roll Tide Roll.”
“I love @samburns66's new hairstyle. You certainly didn't lose the bet and won with your RTR,” Thomas wrote.
It's no surprise that Thomas is a big name in college football. Early in the college football season, Alabama suffered a blowout loss at home to Texas, with former Longhorn Scottie Scheffler trolling the team that won the two-time PGA Championship.
Clearly, their loyalty to the university runs deep.
Barnes never shied away from experimenting with his hair. He shaved his head into a mullet for most of last season and had “USA” tattooed on the side of his head for the Ryder Cup.
But this design takes it to another level. Now he has to hold the rival's slogan next to his head. Sure, Mr. Burns will keep his hat on to hide most of his evidence, but now the world has seen it.
Of course I had a lot of fans. It's funincluding Smiley Kaufman.
Ataboy Sammy!! Must be a man of words!!
Go blue! ! !

As X-user Dakota Kidd pointed out, Barnes takes some of the credit for following through with his punishment. Perhaps he deserves more credit for making this gamble knowing that this has been a relative down year for players from Baton Rouge.
