Vice President Kamala Harris has largely hidden from the media “so that people don’t realize how ill-prepared she is and how bad her ideas are for the country,” said Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio. Breitbart News Saturday.
Vance, who is former President Donald Trump’s nominee for vice presidential running mate in 2024, spoke about Harris’ relationship with the media and Trump’s announcement that he’d agreed to debate her. This is important because Vance noted that Harris is “incredibly bad” without a script.
“If you put her in front of a teleprompter and tell her what to say, she’s fine. But when she actually has to answer questions based on her own knowledge and interests in policy, it’s kind of awful,” Vance said, adding that Trump thrives in that environment.
When asked why Harris, who was picked by Democrats without the help of actual Democratic voters, has largely hidden from the media and not even held a major press conference, Vance said the more Harris talks, the more it becomes clear she is not ready to be commander in chief.
“When she goes out and talks to people, I think it’s pretty clear to everyone that she’s not ready to be president,” Vance said, contrasting his own media appearances, including interviews with NBC since being appointed by Trump.
“I think your responsibility as a political candidate is to go out and get the votes of the people you want to lead, right? I want her to be the next vice president. I think I have to go out and actually convince people that I’d be a good vice president,” Vance said, explaining that Harris is “basically using a strategy of hiding from the press so people don’t realize how ill-prepared she is and how bad her ideas are for the country.”
“It’s really, really embarrassing” for her and for the media to cover up her shortcomings, Vance continued.

“They’ve been decrying Donald Trump for years as a threat to democracy, and then they praise Kamala Harris without even asking to be interviewed? This really shows how the media is fundamentally a propaganda arm of the DNC,” Vance said.
“We need to make sure people don’t forget that, because we need to not trust the media. They’ve obviously lied about her. They’ve lied about President Trump. They’ve lied about me. We need people to know the truth,” he added.
