Kansas Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Stabbing
A man from Kansas has been charged with attempted first-degree murder following an unprovoked attack on a woman at a park in Olathe, according to local authorities.
Kwan Noble Tresvant, 27, was arrested on Thursday after officers responded to reports of an armed disturbance involving a 38-year-old woman, Jamie Trump, who was seriously hurt.
Around 12:06 p.m., police arrived at the 1000 block of North Ridgeview Road, finding the victim suffering from stab wounds.
Trump was taken to a hospital for treatment and is reportedly expected to survive, as noted by the Olathe Reporter. The police described the assault as “completely reckless.”
It was mentioned that Trump worked as a choir teacher at Indian Trail Middle School. In a show of support, community members have organized a meal train fundraiser for her family.
The Johnson County District Attorney’s Office claims Tresvant attacked Trump with a knife with intent to kill, as defined in their complaint. He appeared in court on Friday, with a preliminary hearing set for March 26, and is currently being held on a $500,000 bail.
Interestingly, Tresvant has a past: he pleaded guilty in 2024 to a misdemeanor charge related to a law enforcement officer and served nearly four months in prison. Additionally, in 2020, he was also found guilty of two misdemeanor counts related to obstructing a legal process and possessing drug paraphernalia.
