White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre asked reporters whether the 81-year-old president has “a different kind of vitality that is perhaps less visible,” and said that Joe Biden defended the president.
One reporter asked the White House press secretary if there was perhaps another level of “vigor” Biden was showing behind the scenes, one that the American public was unaware of. This topic is on everyone’s minds in the wake of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s damning report. “Well, first of all, I was on a swing with him recently, right? He went to Wisconsin. He went to Michigan. He went to California. He went to Vegas and is going to Ohio later this week. So he visited small businesses and obviously met people on the street and spent hours with them,” Jean-Pierre said recently. Biden said, pointing out all the places he stopped.
“People have seen him, and you’ve all seen him himself in covering this president. And you see him interact. He’s engaged, he’s in Las Vegas. He answered some of the questions that you guys had even when he was in … he tends to answer them and in a light way, in a funny way, and to some people sharply about it. We have an answer,” she continued, boasting that Biden has also met with world leaders.
“I’ve already talked about my experience with him, but to answer your question, I’ve spent countless hours with this president, both in the Oval Office and on the road. He’s astute; enthusiastic, [and] He’s pushing us to seek information,” she claimed, reiterating that she believes Biden is “sharp” and “on his feet.”

Mr. Jean-Pierre’s defense follows Mr. Hsu’s report, which detailed Mr. Biden’s “severely limited” memory and concluded that he was too mentally weak to prosecute.
