Trump Plans to Attend NBA Finals Game
President Donald Trump mentioned during a Cabinet meeting that he intends to go to the upcoming NBA Finals game. This comes as the New York Knicks make their first appearance in the Finals in nearly three decades.
Remember back in 2012 when Jeremy Lin took the NBA by storm? It was a wild time for Knicks fans, stirring up a sense of hope that had been absent for years. Even though Lin, along with teammates like Carmelo Anthony and Amar’e Stoudemire, never reached a championship game, their impact was undeniable. Now, the current Knicks roster seems to be reigniting that same excitement.
Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Hart have recently driven the Knicks to the Finals, aiming for the franchise’s first championship since 1973. Towns, who grew up in New Jersey, revealed that it was Lin who inspired him to become a Knicks fan during “Linsanity,” a basketball phenomenon that captivated many.
“I owe a big shout out to Jeremy Lin,” Towns said, recalling how much he admired him. “I was searching for his jersey back then. I can’t emphasize how much I love Jeremy Lin; he’s definitely one of my all-time favorite Knicks.”
Reflecting on his journey, Towns said it’s surreal to now be part of the team he once idolized. His passion for the Knicks was also shaped by his parents, which drew him to the Knicks over the Brooklyn Nets.
With the Knicks now just four wins away from making history, it’s clear that the excitement around the team is palpable, not just for the players but also for their devoted fans.
