Karoline Leavitt smacks down WH reporter: ‘Why is the media so against cutting waste?

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt I swapped An attempt by NBC news reporters to create a story that Republicans across the country do not agree with the cost-cutting measures taken by the Trump administration to reduce spending.

“We're now hearing from the components of the Red District, traditionally, and they say what they say is a chainsaw approach and that's been done very sloppy. Work and spending reductions. How do you respond to that criticism? Peter Alexander asked without providing a specific example.

“We won't be blocked by people like you or from news outlets that are clearly opposed to cutting off waste.”

“I love the way the media takes several critics when an overwhelming response from the American public supports what this administration is doing. According to CBS, we see 70% of Americans. And I believe President Trump is implementing it. About the promises he made,” Levitt replied.

Leavitt went on to say that his intention to cut government spending was not a secret during Trump's 2024 campaign at the time.

“We can all have our own opinions on what wasteful spending is. Republicans praised the president for reducing wasteful spending, but of course fraud is a crime. Are you hoping for these accusations?” Alexander then asked.

Leavitt said he believes incredible spending, such as surgery to remove healthy breasts in Mozambique, in healthy women, is fraudulent for American taxpayers. She further pointed to an inspector's report that found over $71 billion in social security fraud was being carried out.

“It was in one report for several years, from 2015 to 2022,” inserts Alexander.

“Why is the media about cutting waste, fraud and abuse from the government? …We are staunchly opposed to people like you and obviously waste, fraud and abuse. “We know that American taxpayers in their homes struggling with an inflation crisis don't want to pay taxes on crazy DEI programs in countries overseas.” Leavitt added.
