FBI Director Kash Patel Calls for Apology from MS NOW

FBI Director Kash Patel is asking MS NOW for more than just a simple correction after the channel incorrectly reported that he had arrived in Russia.

On social media, Patel said, “MS NOW put me in Russia based on two anonymous sources. I was in Virginia, honoring law enforcement at Liberty University. The network had to correct its false report.” He criticized their failure to verify locations before broadcasting, expressing concerns about public trust in such reporting.

Furthermore, Patel stated, “This is bigger than a false story about me. The men and women of law enforcement deserve accurate reporting while they protect communities and take violent criminals off our streets. Three apologies are owed: to this FBI, to the law enforcement community, and to the American People.”

MS NOW had quickly issued a correction after the erroneous report stating that Patel “landed in Russia.” The network had initially claimed he was attending meetings, citing two FBI sources with supposed concerns about his visit to the Kremlin.

Following the misreport, MS NOW did not immediately respond to inquiries for comment but referred to their on-air correction.

On the day of the initial broadcast, anchor Peter Alexander shared the “breaking news” about Patel’s alleged travel to Russia. However, after the FBI’s Rapid Response team pointed out he was actually in Virginia for a local event, corrections were made.

Later, correspondent Ken Dilanian also corrected his earlier claims, acknowledging that he had reported inaccurately and clarifying that Patel remained in the U.S.

Amid this controversy, some critics suggested that the premature report was possibly an attempt to uncover leakers within the FBI. An FBI official, while not confirming or denying such actions, indicated that those responsible would likely be identified.
