Kavanaugh on rebuilding trust in judicial system: ‘Consistency builds respect’: Reports

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh said Friday that “consistency breeds respect” when it comes to trust in the U.S. judicial system, according to the Washington Post.

“An individual’s decision does not have to be popular. …The loser must respect the decision,” Kavanaugh said. Said at Friday’s judicial conference, the Post reported.

“Consistency breeds respect,” Kavanaugh continued. “Every day in the courtroom, you try to be respectful to the parties, you try to write your opinion in a clear and understandable way, and when you’re speaking, you try to come out and explain the judicial process to the courtroom.” Strive to be fair as a government official. ”

A February CNN poll found that most Americans do not trust the Supreme Court to make “the right decisions” regarding cases related to the 2024 election. When asked whether they trusted the nation’s highest court on this issue, 58% of respondents said they had either “no trust” or “some trust.” 11% said they had “a lot” of confidence in the courts on this issue, and 35% said they had “some” confidence in the courts.

Kavanaugh too I got it. According to the Associated Press, previous “unpopular” decisions by the Supreme Court, “many of which are now accepted as part of the fabric of America and part of the fabric of the American Constitution, are landmark decisions.” “It is a thing.”

He also said federal judges are “as far away from politics as possible,” according to the Associated Press.

“It’s a day-to-day thing. I don’t think it’s a ‘turn on’ thing.” It shows up in court every day and tries to honor the parties in a clear and understandable way,” Kavanaugh continued.
