of Chicago Bears Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to use trusted target Keenan Allen in the Week 1 matchup. Tennessee TitansAllen has practiced on a limited basis for most of this week but practiced fully on Friday.
Keenan Allen's injury status
Coach Matt Eberflus told the media that Allen's outlook is good for Sunday's game against the Titans. Eberflus said he expects the veteran wide receiver to play and that the entire Bears offensive line will be available.
How Keenan Allen's injury impacts fantasy football
With Allen expected to play, fantasy football owners should go into Week 1 with the same mindset they've had all offseason. DJ Moore will likely be the No. 1 wide receiver on the offense, and Allen is a very solid WR2 and a reliable target for Williams. The question mark is how involved rookie Rome Odunze will be. Had Allen not played, there would have been more involvement from the rookie. However, with Allen expected to play, he and Odunze will be competing for targets.
For Caleb Williams, the rookie will be happy to have a guy like Allen. The Bears traded for Allen with the mindset of preparing their No. 1 overall pick to succeed in Year 1. With Moore, Allen and Odunze, this team could be one of the most exciting offensive lines in the NFL. Allen was 11th in first downs per route run last year in 2023. There's a good chance Williams will be the guy to look for on third downs and in key situations.
