Kentucky woman goes on shooting rampage, kills husband, sister before dying in shootout with brother: police

A Kentucky woman went on a shooting rampage, killing her husband and also shooting her own sister before being shot and killed by her brother in a shootout, police said.

Angela Gosser, 56, is accused of driving to her brother’s home in Jamestown on Friday, May 3, armed with a gun and breaking into the home. Her brother, Darryl Wilson, 58, was at her home at the time. Press release from Kentucky State Police, He also had a gun.

Police said the two brothers engaged in a gunfight that ultimately resulted in Gosser’s death. Police said Wilson was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

But police say the extent of Gosser’s crimes only became clear after authorities were called to the home of his sister, Jennifer Wilson, for a welfare check.

Jennifer Wilson’s family said they were unable to contact her and feared for her safety, according to a press release.

When authorities arrived at the Russell County home, they discovered something horrifying.

Larry Gosser was a retired sergeant with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife after 16 years of service, according to Wilson Funeral Home records.

Police told local station WKYT that Larry Gosser was trimming a tree on their property in western Pulaski County when his wife shot and killed him.

Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones told WKYT: “The investigation is ongoing. We are still working with detectives and looking for clues. They will return to the scene to find closure in the case. We are working on it,” he said.

According to his obituary, Larry Gosser was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors, loved animals, and most of all, loved spending time with his family and friends.

Investigators have not yet released a motive for the killing.
