It appears that Quique Hernandez is not likely to join the Los Angeles Dodgers on their upcoming visit to the White House.
The Dodgers are set to meet President Donald Trump this month to celebrate their 2025 World Series win. However, when a fan inquired on social media about Hernandez’s attendance, the seasoned player reportedly replied, “I’m not going,” as captured in screenshots of the conversation.
This particular comment has been removed, yet it caught attention since Hernandez had participated in the Dodgers’ visit to the White House after their 2024 championship last year.
In an interview with Cultura Sports in April 2025, Hernandez recounted the previous visit, emphasizing that it was more about spending time with teammates than anything meaningful. Still, the experience sounded rather dull. “That morning we went to the White House. They made us sit in a room for about three hours. Then they told us to stand up and get in line. We waited another few hours. Then they brought us to the stage. The guy gave a speech and we left,” he shared. When asked if he had a conversation with the president, he admitted, “I haven’t.”
Hernandez clarified that he didn’t engage because he wasn’t particularly interested in talking with Trump. He also made it clear that every player decided for themselves regarding attendance to avoid stirring controversy.
Given this context, his recent comments reflect a candidness typical of Hernandez. Over the years, he has garnered a loyal fanbase due to his unique personality and moments of brilliance on the field, alongside his light-hearted approach to life as a professional athlete.
His fan-favorite status holds strong, even during a challenging 2026 season where he has only played in two games due to recovery from elbow surgery and other injuries. Still, his influence in Los Angeles remains significant.
While the Dodgers might soon head to the White House again, it seems Hernandez won’t be part of that trip, at least for now.
